Welcome back, Newmanites!

The spring semester has entered with some FREEZING temperatures, which means its high time to be ON FIRE with the spirit. Join us for Mass followed by dinner and fellowship on Wednesday evenings at 5 p.m. Fr. Andy will be having coffee in the YU on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Swing by for a little time with the padre. We have some great prayer and faith formation opportunities coming up during Lent, so stay tuned!

Newman Centers are named after Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman

John Henry Cardinal Newman wrote, taught, and preached in the 19th century and spent many of his early years at Oxford. After being raised in the Anglican Church and moving through a complex spiritual quest, he decided to become Catholic at age 42. He was ordained a priest four years later and served the Catholic Church with distinction as a prominent theologian. Cardinal Newman was beatified by Pope Benedict XVI on September 19, 2010. Newman believed that in a university setting, theology should hold a prominent place alongside the liberal sciences. Only a union of the two, he believed, would lead to wholeness of knowledge. True faith relies on intellectual arguments, and full understanding of the arts and sciences requires a study of their Creator.

The Cathedral of Christ the King is located just a few blocks northwest of the UWS campus on Belknap Street.

Fr. Andrew Ricci is the rector.

A Communion Service is held on Mondays at 8:30am, and daily Mass is held at the Cathedral on Tuesdays through Fridays at 8:30am. The Rosary is said before Mass at 8:05.

Confessions are held at 3:00pm on Saturdays.
Weekend Masses are at 4:30pm on Saturdays, and 8:30am and 10:30am on Sundays.
